The 2nd Generation Demoutable Flood Barrier NFP-50 Operation and Maintenance Manual

A.  Against the flood threats, prepare all accessories (except for those been permanently installed already at initial installations ) for rapid deployment of flood defense, including:

1. Removable central posts (if any) and its fixing bolts.

2. Removable aluminum barrier panels.

3. Downwards pressing tools.

4. EPDM base seal.

5. Installation tools including large hexagonal wrench (for rotating pole's side pressing), small hexagonal wrench (for downwards

pressing at top), and other wrenches (for removable post fixing).

B.  Install  the  removable  flood  barrier(if any):

1. Clean the top surface of the anchor plate in ground.

2. Remove the protective bolt in the top plate with the matching wrench.

3. Place the removable central post sitting on the anchor plate and align the bolt holes.

4. Put in the fixing bolts and tighten them with the matching wrench (Please half- tighten them one   by one for positioning first, and then fully tighten   them to avoid thread misalignment).

C.  Remove the SS protective cover of the end post (*optional) on wall for deployment preparation

D. Barrier panel deployment:

1. Pick any a panel, and insert base EDPM seal in the corresponding length at panel bottom (Note: this panel must be placed at the bottom contacting the ground).

2. Place this panel on ground first, adjacent to the EPDM gaskets in post interior, pay attention that both of panel ends should fully reach the EDPM gaskets in post.

3. Stack the remaining barrier panels on top one by one to reach the required flood protection height.

E.  The compression procedure

1. Rotate the aluminum rotating pole inside the post with large Allen wrench, to have the locking blocks reach the 1st  locking postion to align the panels first, please kindly note now the locking blocks should NOT be rotated to the final position.

2. Slide in the downwards pressing tool into the channel of the post from top, and tighten the bolts to generate downwards compression.

3. Continue rotating the aluminum rotating pole to have the locking blocks to reach 2nd  locking position to finsh the deployment.

F .For dismantlement after flooding event, please reverse the above operation.
